Wet weather kept a few away, but I set it up in the Pro shop and had the kids well entertained.  (Fin, a five year old) was launching balls to the target for an hour!)  so very pleased and can see the potential.  Looking forward to the junior programme LAUNCHing 17th Oct..................

 

Vincentia Golf Club

 

A few months ago we purchased some snag golf equipment to help with our junior coaching at Vincentia Golf Club and i just wanted to give you some feedback on how we have been going and perhaps any ides you might have
moving forward.
Firstly the equipment is absolutely fantastic!!  The kids really enjoy using it. I have been coaching golf for nearly 20 years and this equipment is just what kids need to help their journey from beginning to actually playing on the course. They seem to pick up the fundamentals easier with the oversize heads and the lighter clubs helping generate an effective swing.
We have also set up some team games, which the kids really enjoy. This ismaking their golfing experience fun and i guess less lonely if that makesany sense.

The two schools I have been to so far I taught 6 classes with approx 25- 30 children in each and we went for around 40 minutes. We did this free of charge to try to help boost our participation.of our juniors on a Sunday. To date we have joined around 10 new members from this.

Sharpies Golf - Blenheim - Jonti Philipson  - PGA Professional

 

SNAG (Starting New At Golf) has created some talk in golfing circles around Marlborough. Since the introduction of SNAG to the Marlborough region by local professional Jonti Philipson from Sharpies Marlborough in November 2010, we have seen a huge increase in golfing interest and junior memberships in the greater region. Local schools from Picton to Kaikoura are getting excited and involved with this  popular programme. Whilst kids are getting motivation towards golf, financially both local clubs in the Marlborough region and our local golf shop "Sharpies Marlborough"are reaping the benefits of this well devised junior golf training programme.  Thankyou SNAG!! 

 

  

 

Russley Golf Club  - Rodney Yee  - PGA Professional

  

The Russley Golf Club has recently made some exciting changes to their successful junior programmme, and one of the changes has been implementing SNAG Golf to cater for new players to the game and also take on juniors from the ages of 4yrs and up. 

We have been using SNAG for the last 5 weeks in our Junior Programme and the feedback has been fantastic. We have now introduced 6 new players to the game who we didn't have before with the goal of attracting many more as we proceed.

Roydvale Primary School has just finished an 8 week programme with us, there were 12 in the class and the feedback we got from the kids and the teacher were amazing. Most of the class had not played golf before. We hope to get a majority of the class to continue playing golf by coming to join our Sunday Junior Programme. 

NZPGA Golf Professional Rodney Yee has been delivering most of the programs and he says “that the equipment is incredibly easy to use, its great fun for the players, the oversized clubs and colourful targets makes teaching a lot more effective and fun."

  

 

 Mt Gambier Golf Club

 

The official Launch of SNAG Golf for Mount Gambier Golf Club took place on the 21st April. It was an absolute hit with 48 children on the range , varying ages from as young as 3 years up to 15 year olds out there having some fun. They all got to learn some new things and it was amazing seeing them when they arrived with little or no skills to when they left they actually were hitting the balls like little champions. To reward all their good efforts today we actually had two SNAGMEN out there for them to chase around and they defiantly loved the end part of the day. I also believe that a few golfers on the 17th hole actually stopped to see what was going on...

Hi Todd, 
Just wanted to express my sincere thanks for all your help and mentoring over the past 6 weeks with the Upper Harbour Primary School after school program. You are a true asset to SNAG and the programs we are running. I have learnt so much from you and still have heaps to go. Your knowledge and experience and your willingness to share and support me has been a huge benefit to me. I look forward to working with you more in the future to deliver this wonderful introduction system to golf for not only children but anyone new to golf. I value the knowledge I have gained so far.

Chisholm Park Golf Club - Andrew Whiley (Class AAA NZPGA Member)

 

I just wanted to say thanks to Todd for coming down yesterday. 

The trip was extremely valuable for Ryan, golf club, the Tahuna Intermediate and also myself. 

We now have the teachers at Tahuna raving about it and I look forward to introducing all the kids into SNAG during term 4.

I think word will quickly spread throughout the local schools and we will get some very good relationships quickly established.
